Mobile Internet Access

Posted in NonTech | Mobility at Wednesday, March 01, 2006 7:04 PM W. Europe Standard Time

It just rocks! Greetings to everyone from my hotel room in Esslingen near Stuttgart!

Note to self: Try unrolling the USB cable before connecting the mobile to the laptop. Otherwise the connection will not be established.

Merry Christmas

Posted in NonTech | Tools and Software | Mobility at Sunday, December 25, 2005 12:58 AM W. Europe Standard Time

I would like to wish all of my friends a merry christmas, or happy holidays, depending on your religion (if any). That's something Gunnar and me learnt from Arte yesterday night. My Christmas evening is over, I was happy giving my presents to my parents and we had nice conversation. The "Roster und Kartoffelsalat" dinner was delicious as always. The same procedure as every year? Yes. :-)

Something more technical: T-Mobile internet access rules. The first time I really have a chance to try it since my department decided to give me a Dell Laptop. I've got UTMS here and it's pretty fast. If you ever wondered how to dial in to T-Mobile with your Laptop/PDA configure the Dialup Connection as follows:

Username: t-d1
Password: t-d1
Number to dial: *99#

This will work in Germany, I'm not sure if this is true in other countries. I tested the connection using my Nokia 6680.
